Dish Network Fees

We signed up for Dish network back in the fall. Of course we had our three free months of the movie channels. This month that free period ended. So, when my husband went to cancel the free channel packages, the monthly cost went up from the $80 a month when the channels were free to now $107 a month since they were canceled. Why is this?
