An optional whole home Digital Video Recorder (DVR) storage device was also developed which allows up to 400 hours of HD recordings by using the unit's 1 TB hard disk. As the DVR is strictly a recording and playback unit, it is wired directly to the subscriber's router and allows any television in the subscriber's household the ability to record and watch each other's recordings using a single device, a first for the Roku platform.
