QVC leaving analog C-band
(1/1)
DrSat:
For those of you who had a C-band satellite system back in the 80's and 90's, you most likely noticed the increasing amount of channels switching from analog to digital.
With that in mind, tomorrow January 31st QVC will turn off its analog signal on C4-09. As there has been a digital feed in HD and SD already for a few years now, there should be virtually no disruption to affiliates who carry QVC on their system.
After this, the last remaining 24/7 analog signal on C-Band will be C3-07 C-SPAN.

Right about now, everything is in digital format and the change should have happened a while ago. QVC is a leader on television. This has been a long time coming and makes QVC's stock rise.

Don't you find it totally ridiculous that the US Government would waste literally millions of dollars a year to keep an outdated analog NTSC signal alive on a satellite like it's still 1988.
I bet they think maybe there is some guy in a hut along the river somewhere still watching ...... :o
