Great news for everyone outside the US, Japan, Western Europe and Australia Netflix is coming to you!
This morning the CEO of Netflix Reed Hastings announced that they're expanding to countries like Russia, India, Indonesia and the Philippines which brings their total country count to 190. Are you excited to watch Netflix originals like Daredevil and House of Cards or are you subscribing for the movies?

Yes, but the content available will be largely dependent on licensing and location. Don't think that you will be getting all the same content in the new places that you would get in the USA for example. Netflix may turn out to be a great value in one market and just rubbish in another.

The other thing that I found out was that the move to incorporate all of these countries has raised netflixes stock. It has soared apparently with the development that netflix is being offered in 130 countries. It is something that was needed and necessary all over the world. it is just one of the great things that the company has done to raise it's public profile.

When the dust settles and choice limitations become apparent those stock prices may not look so good. Better to reserve judgement than jump on the party bandwagon for this one.

Sounds great! It is about time! I enjoyed Netflix when I was living in the US, and now I can enjoy it abroad! Thank you Netflix!

This is awesome because I know people whose business takes them overseas, and they often complain how they can not enjoy such a luxury when away from home. Go Netflix on their new advance! :D

Well I am sure that that will be good for business. I have to say that I was pretty surprised to learn that they were not operating in some of those countries, and I guess I just assumed that they were. Nevertheless though, you cannot argue when it is good news for the consumer, and maybe this will mean that Netflix will get some more content that we otherwise might not have been exposed to, which is a win for me.
